PHILOSOPHY

Doma is the Croatian word for "being at home." Our passion is to capture that feeling for each one of our clients, no matter how big or small their home, and how unique the meaning is for them.

Since establishing Doma Homes in 2016, we have been dedicated to improving and expanding the values of homes and spaces to their owners, from the exterior style to functionality of the interior.

With over two decades of experience in historic high-end renovations, including award-winning Back Bay projects as well as projects in the wider Boston Metro area, I enjoy designing additions to complement historic homes, or improving home exteriors to reflect a style desired by the owners, from historic to modern.

To better accommodate constant changes in the ways people live, work and play, we design multifunctional, versatile, and flexible interior spaces, whenever applicable. For added functionality we design well-integrated suites, in-law apartments and Accessory Dwelling Units. These can be used by owners, their friends and family, or rented out for greater affordability. Where a zoning allowance is not yet in place, we design these areas for convenient conversion once zoning requirements change. This approach allows for greatly increased long-term comfort and quality of living, and reduces the need for later renovations or moves.

We envision homes where owners can more comfortably change their lifestyles and adjust to changing family structure, work or develop their business from home, enjoy family visits, age in place, and simply live richer lives.

We apply the same values and philosophy to commercial projects as well. Whenever applicable, we strive to create spaces that are multifunctional, accommodate choices and allow relatively easy changes over time. These designs support the resilience, longevity and prosperity of businesses, and uniquely represent their brand.
